11 Women Scientists Celebrated as 2011 Winners of Elsevier Foundation/OWSD Awards

On September 29th, 11 talented women from Africa, the Middle East, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean were recognized for their research excellence in chemistry, physics and the life sciences by the Elsevier Foundation, TWAS, the academy of sciences for the developing world and OWSD, the Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World. The awards ceremony took place at the WISE 2011 during the International Year of Chemistry 2011 and hosted by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, and Institut Kimia Malaysia (IKM) in Kuala Lumpur. Each winner received a cash prize of US$5,000.
