Full Mission Statement:
In cooperation with the international World Voice Day organizing body (world-voice-day.org), the aim of World Voice Day Nigeria is to emphasize the importance of vocal health and to celebrate the vocal arts, including acting, broadcasting, public speaking, singing, and teaching. As the most populous black nation in the world, Nigeria is endowed with rich cultural diversity, manifested by hundreds of languages and a thriving arts and entertainment industry. On 16th April 2014, Nigeria joins with countries around the world to celebrate the human voice, with music and poetry unique to this great nation.
Above all, World Voice Day Nigeria conveys a positive image and message from and about Nigeria and the African continent. This is our responsibility as the only participating country in Sub-Saharan Africa. To achieve this goal, the theme of the 2014 edition is "Voices for Peace." The program will culminate with a performance of "A Thousand Voices for Peace" by the World Voice Day Nigeria Mass Choir. The auditorium will be filled with the glorious voices of Nigerian youth and will be broadcast around the world as part of the World Voice Day Global Concert Series.
